چکیده

Anatase TiO2 nanoparticles with a mean diameter of approximately 10 nm were successfully synthesized by a nonaqueous sol-gel route without the use of air-free equipment. The nanoparticles are well dispersed in common organic solvents in the form of primary particles, and the colloid is stable for more than one year. The particles and colloid were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), quasielastic light scattering (QELS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and size-exclusion chromatography (SEC). The average particle size measured by several analytical methods is in excellent agreement. Moreover, NMR and SEC are able to detect the presence of an additional component comprising a second population of smaller particles with a diameter of 2 nm. The work in this paper shows that nanotechnology can benefit significantly from the new application of conventional analytical tools.

An investigation on the effect of acetone and DMF as solvent on synthesis of P2O5-CaO-Na2O-TiO2 glass powder by sol-gel method

The sol-gel synthesis method allows greater control over glass morphology at a relatively low processing temperature (200 °C) in comparison with melt-derived glasses. In present study, phosphate-based glasses with the general formula of (P2O5)55-(CaO)25-(Na2O)10-(TiO2)10 was synthesized via a novel and facil...

Synthesis and Characterization of Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles by the Sol-Gel Method and Investigation of Photocatalytic Activity

Cu2+,Ce3+-doped nanostructure TiO2 -coated Nd3+ (TiO2 /Nd3+) were prepared by sol-gel method. TiO2 were synthesized by the sol-gel method using tetra n-butyl orthotitanat (TBT) as a precursor. The prepared nanoparticles characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM- EDS and TEM. The XRD showed that the major phase of nanocomposite is anatase. The morphology of the TiO2/Nd3+/Cu2+and TiO2 /Nd3+/Ce3+ microsphe...

Synthesis and characterization of nano-TiO2 via different methods

In this paper, we report the comparison between TiO2 nanoparticles prepared via two different routes; i) via sol-gel route and ii) by hydrothermal method. It was found that when prepared under the same ambient conditions viz temperature, pressure etc. and keeping all the parameters same viz precursors, mole ratio, solvent etc; the nanoparticles prepared via sol-gel route were highly crystalline...
